Welcome to University of Warwick Badminton Club!

We are a club that caters for players of all standards, from beginners right up to internationals selected to play at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The Badminton Club provides a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which members can choose to play competitively or for leisure. With 7 sessions a week, we try our best to accommodate the busy schedules of our members, so there is plenty of opportunity to improve general fitness and enhance your game. All shuttles are provided and we can lend rackets to members at club sessions if necessary.

The club meets the needs of both beginner and advanced players, with coaching sessions for all levels as well as team training. We have a number of highly competitive teams who represent Warwick in the British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) Leagues. We also hold internal tournaments in every category from mixed doubles to singles at least once a term.

UWBC really is a terrific community to be a part of! Whether you are a keen player or a complete beginner, our club has so much to offer you in both a sporting and a social sense!

We are proudly sponsored by FZ Forza, more information can be found on the Sponsorship page.

How to join the club

The total cost of joining amounts to £98, including the Silver Membership (£60), the Sports Federation Fee (£32) and the Badminton Club Membership (£6).

The entire process will require you to log onto your Warwick Account and is split into two transactions:

  1. The Silver Membership is the minimum you need and costs £60 (add to basket here); this will give you access to pretty much every sporting facility at the University other than the gym and the tennis centre.
  2. To join the club itself, click here to add the £6 club membership to your basket. An additional £32 Sports Federation fee is then needed to join any sports clubs which use on-campus facilities. This fee can be added when you view your basket and check out.

The club joining fee is £6 for the entire year but this entitles you to many benefits, including all shuttlecock and club racket usage (available to borrow each and every session), discounted tournament entry, and access to free coaching for beginners and advanced (non-team) players.
